– The mayor of Osaka City and the leader of regional party “Osaka ishin no kai” Hashimoto Tohru (橋下徹) announced that he would found a new national party called “Nihon ishin no kai (日本維新の会, its rough translation is ‘party for a restoration of Japan’)” and let his members run for the next national election, that was expected to be held in the near future.
– Kanemoto Tomoaki (金本知憲) of professional baseball team Hanshin Tigers announced his retirement from a player. He is famous for holding the world record for consecutive games played without missing an inning.
